Application of Melting Gear Pumps in Plastic Pelletizing

Melt gear pump is the core supporting equipment of plastic granulation production line, usually connected to the granulation process in the configuration of "extruder+melt gear pump+die head", suitable for granulation processing scenarios of most thermoplastic plastics such as PS, PP, PET, PVC, PC, etc.

1、 Core application value

Stabilize voltage and flow to ensure granulation quality

It controls the outlet pressure fluctuation of the granulation system within ± 0.5% through the forced conveying effect of gear meshing, and the flow accuracy can reach 0.5-1%, completely eliminating the problem of uneven discharge caused by the fluctuation of extruder screw speed, making the cut plastic particles uniform in size, without bubbles or shrinkage defects, and greatly reducing the scrap rate.

Increase production, reduce consumption, optimize production efficiency

The melt gear pump is responsible for the main pressure building function of the granulation system, which can reduce the back pressure load of the extruder, allow the extruder to operate in the optimal process range, increase the overall output of the granulation production line by 15% -30%, and comprehensively save energy by 10% -30%. It can also reduce the wear of the extruder screw and reducer, and extend the service life of the equipment.

Suitable for special granulation scenarios

It can be directly connected to production lines that require high mixing accuracy, such as color masterbatch granulation, engineering plastic modified granulation, and high filling material granulation. When combined with a co rotating twin-screw extruder, the mixing quality and output are significantly improved compared to using a twin-screw unit alone, and the energy consumption per kilogram of material processed can be reduced by about 25%.

2、 Typical application configuration

Different granulation scenarios can be matched with corresponding series of melt gear pumps: ZB-B standard type is suitable for conventional general plastic granulation, ZB-H high temperature and high pressure type is suitable for engineering plastic granulation such as PC and PEEK, and can stably adapt to harsh working conditions of 350 ℃ high temperature and 35MPa high pressure. Some high flow models have displacement specifications ranging from 0.1CC to 30000CC, fully meeting the needs of granulation production lines with different production capacities.
