Reactor Melt Gear Pump Application, Working Principle and Performance Characteristics

The reaction kettle melt gear pump is especially suitable for high temperature, high viscosity polymer melt reaction conveying which requires high output pressure, such as resin, chemical fiber and other industries. Generally installed in the bottom of the reaction kettle, as a material pump to use, this type of pump inlet design is relatively large, easy to kettle bottom large flow feeding; at the same time, has a good self-priming performance, can be applied to the vacuum reaction conditions of the polymer material conveying, pressurization.

When the reaction kettle melt gear pump works, it relies on the working volume change caused by the mutual meshing of the master and slave gears to transport the melt. The working volume is composed of the pump body, the gear's tooth groove and the bearing with side plate function. When the gears rotate in the specified direction, the melt enters the grooves of the two gears in the feeding area. As the gears rotate, the melt is brought into the feeding zone from both sides. The gears mesh again, so that the melt in the tooth groove is extruded out of the discharge area, pressed to the outlet pipe. As long as the pump shaft rotates, the gears press the melt to the outlet side, so the pump outlet can reach a very high pressure.

Meanwhile, its sealing structure includes melt dynamic seal + packing seal, high temperature resistant packing seal, etc. to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the pump.

The reaction kettle melt gear pump is generally installed at the bottom of the reaction kettle, adopting the installation form of motor+reducer+universal coupling, and the universal coupling has a certain compensating effect, which can balance the displacement due to the thermal expansion of the reaction kettle and pipeline, and ensure the normal operation of the whole device.
